NHS Ufi Hub

[More Info]

The NHS Ufi Hub was initially set up as a pilot project. It was designed to assess the viability of making the learndirect experience available across the NHS. The initial project was limited to 16 geographically dispersed trusts. Project management for the pilot project was provided by the Anglia Learning Centre, a part of the Anglia Support Partnership, based in Fulbourn, Cambridge.

The website was designed to provide a communication medium between these 16 trusts, and also to act as the initial public face for enquiries from within the wider NHS. This is a complex site and a good example of a predominantly business-to-business web site. Unfortunately, very little of the site is available for public gaze, a login being required before most of the site's facilities become available.

The site is in effect a complex content management system. It allows administrative users based in Cambridge to upload documents, authorise submitted news items and add new users to the system. Standard users of the system from within the 16 trusts are able to logon, download documents as required, read news pages, and indeed submit their own news items. Any news items submitted by the wider user base would not be displayed publicly until authorised by an administrator.

The NHS Ufi link above provides further detail and a number of screen shots from this system. Should you require further information or a demonstration of a very similar, but non-live setup please contact us.

Link to website for Millbank Electronics

MillBank Electronics

Millbank are a Macclesfield-based commercial audio company specialising in Voice Alarm systems. They have recently been taken over by Ampekko Ltd, and it was felt that the web site needed a drastic overhaul. Once again, the site contains a large amount of quite dry technical information, and a number of files are made available for download as PDFs. A fairly subtle Flash animation is an integral part of the graphic header for each page. This has a long repeat time, and is intended to be relaxng to watch rather than intrusive.

The brief was for a fairly simple static design, but with all areas of the site updateable by the end users. kcscappeal.org.uk

VCP Services

VCP services came to us because they were impressed with our work on the Millbank site. Based in Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, their core business is the design and installation of safety and communication equipment at stadia.

Once again Flash animation has been used. This time to provide the simulation of an environment watched by CCTV cameras. vcpservices.co.uk

Jack Foxcroft

The fashion photographer, Jack Foxcroft, had a very clear idea of what he wanted graphically, and so we were able to quickly transfer his ideas onto the screen. This is a simple, straightforward site, but with a very clear sense of purpose and direction. The use of upper case text throughout most of the site is both bold and striking. jackfoxcroft.co.uk

Russell Dominian

Russell Dominian is a cabinet maker based in Wolvercote, Oxfordshire. This is a fairly straighforward "brochureware" site. However, information for all the gallery pages is database held, and the pages are generated on the fly, as requested. This allows the easiest approach to update and addition of new pieces. russelldominian.co.uk
